  1. EmailAddress validation issue

Hello. You copied regex from .Net EmailAddressAttribute to client validation emailAddress. Server-side validation is with ignore case option, but on client - without it, so email with any uppercase letter is invalid.

  2. I still cannot find a good example of querying locally...

it's the only reason left to continue with Breeze...and we can't get it to work without defining our own type. I looked through the sample code you have and there isn't an example with local querying.

  3. Support filters for multi-level relationships with derived types

Support filters for multi-level relationships with derived types, as in the currently valid OData 3 filter syntax:
    BaseModel/derivedmodel.namespace.on.server/DerivedModelProperty

Currently this almost works if you specify the property name as above, except that it always defaults the data type of the predicate to string, even if a data type is specified. This is due in part to the syntax failing the RX_IDENTIFIER check.

  4. optimize/compress data/bandwidth using nested arrays of values only

Instead of current JSON format used to send data from server to client, optimize it so that only values are sent in an array (or nested arrays) - no need to send field names if schema is available, otherwise send a separate mini-schema (list of fields/types) along the data. Decode it on the client back to the current structure.
This is especially important when trying to limit the data sent back using Select on the server (anonymous entities), each row includes a complete data type as a very long string - with many rows, this adds substantial overhead (almost always…

  5. BreezeJS and Moongose

    Hi All,

I am new to MEAN stack, I am to easily for Moongose based apps and developed rapid prototypes in less than 30 mins, but with Zaa example even though I can run the sample in 10 mins. The concept of metadata generation with respect to MEAN stack very confusing, where as for .NET MVC example I can easily understand.

  6. Tools for meta data creation for breeze not depending on a server-side ORM and tools for ORM-less server-code generation

For me ia server-side ORM for a web application is a wrong cut. I think business logic should go as close to the data as possible to guarantee consistency, protection, and security. This means to me using stored procedures and database functions wherever possible (in a relational environment) and reasonable. In addition, if done right it's arguably unbeatably fast. The role of the Web API should be to provide access to the data across the network but not processing it.

Let's suppose we have to query the database for all open orders for a certain customer including order items and…

  8. Automatically remove from cache items that were deleted by someone else if an Expand clause did not return it

When multiple users play with similar data and one of the navigation property (to a list of children for example) has hard deletable items, it is possible for one user to load all the children in cache, then for another to delete those children. Then, for user 1, even if he refetches the parent objects with an expand clause to the children, Breeze will currently reattach even those children that were not returned from the server - the deleted ones. There is no easy way currently out of manually clearing the cache or querying directly for each child to check…

  9. Better non MS support

Compared with other data client libraries Breeze is way ahead but it is still heavily tied to MS. It says it supports most dbs out the box but this is a bit misleading as you need a .NET provider which really means Windows. I've mainly worked on MS technologies but recent requirements mean a lot of our systems run on Linux and I'd like to use Breeze for this.

  10. Support jqLite

Single Angular incorporates the core functionality of jQuery in its internal jqLite, it would be helpful if Breeze could use jqLite so that the dependency on jQuery could be eliminated in Angular projects.

  11. Metedata generator for poco classes using reflection

There needs to be a metadata generator for POCO classes in projects where entity framework in not used. Reflection can be used to findout properties for generating metadata.

  12. example using Dapper with Web API

I would be interested in seeing an example with Dapper and ASP.NET Web API, as mentioned in this stackoverflow post. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16670151/using-breeze-js-with-dapper

  13. Documentation code samples, double click select text doesn't work as expected

Often times when working with your documentation code examples I will double click on a word to select the text of that word. It appears there is some extra javascript behavior added that will cause the entire document to be selected on double click. This is very annoying and not sure why anyone would want it to work like this..

  14. Support Web API 5.1.x

When attempting to install the Breeze.Server.WebApi2 from nuget, this error is reported, and installation fails:

    Install failed. Rolling back...
Updating 'Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.Core 5.1.1' to 'Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.Core 5.0.0' failed. Unable to find versions of 'Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.WebHost, Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.Owin' that are compatible with 'Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.Core 5.0.0'.

  15. Change EF context provider properties to virtual.

This will make it much easier to mock repositories and follow a better design for server side unit tests.

Also if a matching interface is exposed, IOC will be much easier.

  16. .withHeaders for specifying optional headers to pass along

If we have specific headers we want to pass along for certain calls and not others we don't have the ability to easily handle that when we are using an OData adapter. I've seen implementations where this is handled by setting values on the oData default http client, but that makes the setting occur for EVERY call when I would like to have a more granular level of control to be able to pass along headers in certain scenarios.

  17. fix the region resizer in Chrome (v32.0.1700.107 m)

The resizable areas are broken in Chrome. When I pull the vertical bar to the right, the left regions do not resize.

When I pull the horizontal bars down, it doesn't detect the mouseup event, so the bar stays stuck to my mouse cursor.

  19. More node.js / mongodb love

I fall in love with Breeze, but the support in node / mongodb still needs a lot of work. I can't live with breeze anymore but I can't support .NET.

I saw the TODO but wasn't updated since August 2013.

Things like associations would change it completely.

I vote for some sweet love for those who don't use .NET

  20. Integrate with for SAP's OpenUI5 (http://sap.github.io/openui5/)

OpenUI5 has good support for binding to data, however, it doesn't appear to have a library for easily accessing/changing individual values in a collection of data stored in a model.
